What does a photobooth machine cost?
The real investment behind a commercial photobooth: hardware, consumables and setup.
A commercial photobooth is three purchases in one: the machine, the print system and the space it stands in. Understanding the split is what stops a first-time buyer from over- or under-investing.
The machine itself carries the camera, lighting, touch display and enclosure. This is the part that decides how the booth photographs and how long it survives daily public use — thin sheet metal and consumer webcams are cheap for a reason.
The print system is the operating cost. A dye-sublimation printer and its media determine cost per print, and that number sets your pricing. Budget consumables monthly, not annually.
Setup covers backdrop, lighting, signage, payment and the electrical work. On a shop project this is usually 15–25% of the total.
